Every year, my in-laws host a Fourth of July party at their farm and since Tony and I have been married, we’ve always attended (other than two years ago when we were in Lake Tahoe on vacation). Typically, I pack WAY more than I need for the weekend because I know I’m bound to wear a couple outfits during the day. It normally goes like this – I start in a pretty dress or skirt, prep some yummy red white and blue colored dessert, we drive over and stuff our faces with yummy summer staples, head to the pool (hello swimsuits) and then shorts and tanks for rest of the night for fireworks. Thankfully for me, blue and white are my staple colors and thrive in my closet, however I always struggle with the pop of red.
I gathered together some causal, dressy, and swim looks for your fourth celebration whatever it may look like. Theses outfits should be available to ship to you before this weekend or be picked up in store. I know that the fourth is going to look very different for everyone this year but getting a little dressed up is a simple and easy way to make an event feel more special.
For us, we’ve been excited for Emmie’s first fourth of July since basically last summer. Last year, we told some of my husband’s family that we were pregnant at the party and I remember picturing what next year would look like with a babe in my arms (we didn’t even know the gender yet)! Here we are a year later, with our little baby girl sleeping on my lap as I write this post. As for Emmie, she has SO many patriotic outfits and it might be a little hard to pick just one – although maybe she’ll be like her mama and wear a few throughout the day. 😉
I hope your Fourth of July is wonderful whatever you do, wherever you go, and whatever you wear. Remember although I’ve rounded up some looks for you on the blog, something red white or blue in your closet will do too.
