Emmie Mae is ONE!
AND just like that, our little Emmie Mae is ONE! I feel like it was just yesterday I was writing her birth story and here we are celebrating her first year of life. We had such a wonderful time celebrating our little bug and making her feel special on her first birthday. People tell you that time flies when you have kids but I never thought it would go this fast. It is my greatest joy to watch her grow and learn new things.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you’d know that I am flower obsessed. When searching for birthday themes, I came across a daisy theme and wanted it to be the neutral dream I envisioned. Combined with “one of a kind,” this little girl was showered with daisy themed everything for her big day. Covid made things different than what we had expected and with cold winters in the midwest, having an outdoor party wasn’t an option. We celebrated with family on separate days but had everyone zoom in on the cake smash which was so much fun. We set up the imac and watched our friends and family celebrate Emmie from afar. Emmie was so timid and didn’t even want to eat her cake! It gave us all a good laugh. It was such a special day and everything turned out beautifully!
Small note: The signage I created myself on Canva, printed, and connected with ribbon I found from Joann fabrics. I made the cakes at home so I could use daisy decorations and to control the amount of sugar that was in the cake. Party preparation took us about two days but everything turned out even better than I had envisioned!
